Welcome Message

Dear Prospective Student,

We are living in consequential times; every day we challenged to rise up as Spirit-filled, kingdom-minded leaders. The challenges our world faces, whether war in Europe, civil unrest, global pandemics, post-Christian decline, or technological breakthroughs, require leaders who exhibit the following core values:

First, Christian leaders must passionately pursue divine vision. In their passionate pursuit of God¡¯s vision, GGU leaders must embody the kind of passion and energy that moves Christians toward kingdom goals. Jesus passionately pursued God¡¯s calling for his life. He knew that God would use him so he was able sacrifice himself to fulfill God¡¯s ultimate vision. We are called to live a life worthy of the Gospel where Paul reminds us in Philippians 3:14 to ¡°press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.¡±

As we pursue the divine vision God gives us, a Christian leader must show perseverance and persistence. Being in this world and not of this world can be tiring as we move against the tide. Really holding onto our calling requires a high level of commitment as we run the race that God has set before us. (Hebrews 12:1) We must ¡°fix our eyes on Jesus¡± and press forward.

We are witnessing unprecedented loneliness, isolation, depression, and other social maladies that will require extraordinary levels of caring. At the same time, our caring shouldn¡¯t be reflective of the world; we should exhibit integrity to be in this world while bringing Kingdom values of love and caring to a broken world. Jesus himself brought his caring integrity to the world in his giving of himself as the Good Shepherd. (John 10:11) It is in our integrity and caring that we show the world Jesus.

While the world is enamored with self-made and self-aggrandizing leaders, GGU leaders follow the way of Christ, renouncing worldly power while exhibiting Spirit-filled power with humility and meekness. Our example is Christ, who put aside his heavenly right as son of God and humbled himself to be a servant, even to the point of death. (Philippians 2:6-7) Sacrificial living then embodies how we are to live as leaders.

Just as a small band of humble followers turned the 1st Century world upside-down, servant-leaders need to empower and release a global community of world changers. (Acts 1:8) Leadership is not in leading the charge, it is in washing the feet of others and compelling them with our hearts of service and love that we will help them bring about world change.

Finally, siloed thinking and siloed execution will result in suboptimal results. Expansive thinking, extending across organizational and denominational lines will unleash kingdom results. Being one with each other (John 17:21) can be accomplished through cooperation and networking. GGU will work with you and develop you into a global leader. We have a world-class faculty that exhibit intellectual excellence with reach across global campuses that will produce the kind of leaders for the 21st century, able to confront these global challenges with humility and wisdom.
Thank you for joining us at GGU.
